Countrywide Mortgage Lending Review

Angelo R. Mozila, founder and CEO of Countrywide, began his career at the young age of 14 as a mortgage company delivery boy. Today, he heads the 3rd largest mortgage company in the United States --behind Wells Fargo and Washington Mutual.

Countrywide has managed to push out most of its competitors by making wise strategic partnerships (such as with quicken.com) with a focus on making it easier for the consumer to find information about home loans and mortgages. This mortgage lender also participates in providing quotes through various channels and online mortgage consolidators --like Amerisave Mortgage.

On a personal level, we have had a loan with Countrywide in the past after E-LOAN auctioned our mortgage to them. The switchover was seemless and required no effort on our part. The few times that we had questions about our account -such as payoff information, etc- they were quick to respond, fax a data sheet, and follow-up to our full satisfaction.
